Preliminary Information

National Scholarships can fall under either a ‘Central Scheme’ or ‘UGC’ schemes. These are offered through the National Scholarship Portal of the Government of India. In addition to this, there are All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE] scholarships and diverse state schemes as well which cater to students who are domiciles of the respective states. For the year 2020, applicants hailing from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh can apply for NSP scholarship until 31st January, 2020. The eligibility criteria have been given below: • The applicant must be a student of any of the following: Class 6 to Class 12 in a government, private or government-aided school; enrolled in an undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD courses at a university recognized by Government, State, UGC or AICTE. Courses can be full time as well as part-time or Polytechnic, Diploma or ITI courses.
• The student must be unable to cover the expenses of their education and risk dropping out due to an economic crisis or a family hardship that has occurred within the last three years.
